Alcoa OEM GT500-KR Wheels Set- JUST REFINISHED, EXTREMELY HARD TO FIND
Removed from a 16k mile 2009 Shelby GT500-KR Coupe
These wheels were originally finished with Aloca’s “Dura-Bright” Technology. It was done in order to prevent brake dust build up, peeling, and flaking.
From Shelby America 2007 Press Release: “About Alcoa Dura-Bright Technology: Alcoas new Dura-Bright technology is a patented wheel surface treatment that provides sophisticated style that is easy to maintain.
It is not a coating or a finish, but a proprietary surface treatment that penetrates and reacts with the aluminum thus becoming an integral part of the wheel. The revolutionary process resists peeling, cracking and corrosion. Automotive News recently awarded Alcoa Dura-Bright technology as a winner in the prestigious 2007 PACE (Premier Automotive Suppliers Contribution to Excellence) Award competition.”
*THESE WHEELS WERE STRIPPED OF THIS DURABRIGHT TECHNOLOGY.* A clear coat was applied from the factory and in order to bring these back to life they were stripped down to bare aluminum and repolished.
NO CLEAR was added back. So it is up to you how you would like to proceed. You can repolish them again on your own accord, contact Shelby America or Alcoa in order to add the Dura-Bright Technology back into them, or just re-clear coat them.
We have parted out two 2007-09 GT500-KR’s and still have the original factory tires that survived. The set of tires would be comprised from this car (16,000 miles) and another that had only 1800 miles. If the buyer would like proper-era date coded tires for show purposes only, they can be included in sale. I would not recommend them for normal street usage however given the age.
OEM Shelby Center Caps included in sale and in good shape.
One TMPS sensor was damaged.
Willing to provide buyer with more pics if needed. Just message us. Specs follow below.
Wheel Specs:
Square setup; All 4 are the same size
18″x9.5″
ET: 45mm
Bolt Pattern:
5×114.3mm (aka 5×4.5″)
This is the same standard Mustang lug pattern for anything produced after 1993. So they would bolt right up to any Mustang made between 1994-Present.
